Brett Heckman learned his love for building from his father’s swimming pool and remodeling business. Brett learned firsthand how things are built the right way after remodeling many homes with the company. In 1995, he had an opportunity to work for a distinguished builder in the Nashville area as a superintendent. The experience not only allowed Brett to gain knowledge of how today’s process works, but also gave him a great mentor. In early 1999, Cumberland Construction, LLC was formed.

Brett has built homes in Franklin, Brentwood, Belle Meade, Leiper’s Fork and Nashville. After creating homes for over a decade, he continues to build with quality, honesty and integrity. With a great eye for detail and a commitment to build homes with only the finest finishes, Brett constructs each home as if it were his own. His wife, Lauran, works with Brett as a design consultant. She assists clients in making their selections, striving to make their building process one that will not only be enjoyable, but easy as well. Lauran spent most of her childhood living in Temple Hills. She and Brett moved to Temple Hills in 1995 and have lived there for the past 12 years. They have two daughters, Taylor and Hope.
